April 3 Application Deadline for Argonne Extreme Scale Training

Doctoral students, postdocs, and computational scientists are encouraged to apply to the intensive Argonne Extreme Scale (ATPESC)  two-week course.

ATPESC provides advanced training to 60 participants. Qualified applicants must:

  • Have substantial experience in MPI and/or OpenMP programming
  • Have used at least one HPC system for a resonable complex application
  • Plan to conduct CS&E research on large-scale computers

US CITIZENSHIP OR PERMANENT RESIDENCE IS NOT REQUIRED.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • April 3, 2015 – Deadline for applications
  • April 21, 2015 – Applicants will be notified of acceptance
  • May 4, 2015 – Deadline for accepted applicants to register

According to Paul Messina, the  ATPESC program provides students intense hands-on training on the key skills, approaches and tools to design, implement, and utilize computational science and engineering applications on current and future HPC systems.

Talks will be given by Pete Beckman (ANL), James Reinders (Intel), Bill Gropp (UIUC), Kathy Yelick (LBNL) and many others from organizations like LLNL, IBM, and Cray.  The schedule can be found here.
