NVIDIA Shield 2 will be a tablet (with stylus) as well as a gaming device!

It’s looks like it is true (and it can now be ordered),  the K1-powered Shield 2 Gaming console will also be an 8″ tablet! What a cool idea!  This will be a CUDA/Gamers/Tablet/(cellphone?) honey of a device. (July 22: It’s available now!).

NVIDIA has created a tweet-based game “Ultimate Quest” in what is believed to be a promotion for the Shield 2. Click on the image below to sign up. Note that gameplay ends on Tuesday July 22.

  • 4K Ultra-HD ready
  • Micro SD slot
  • Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, dual-band a/b/g/n WiFI
  • Integrated Stylus
  • 19.75 WHr battery (up to 10-hours HD video playback)

Can you use it as cellphone?

Possibly with a bluetooth headpiece and the support of a mobile provider. The Techme site shows the unlocked version is compatible with both T-Mobile and AT&T. This site also provides leaked slides with the full technical specifications.
